I used to be angry at the vitriol within some childfree groups, too (and I still avoid it when possible), but I think I came to understand that the pressure and judgment some feel may be overwhelming to them and make them angry and defensive. Feeling like you’re supposed to have a certain kind of life you desperately don’t want, and to not yet be confident and comfortable with the desire to NOT have that life, can be exhausting and enraging. So, that may be why they’re behaving that way. (In addition to responding to the broader acceptance of calling childfree people selfish. I mean, the Pope does it.)
