If I were to get pregnant, there would be no “our” about my pregnancy. You and society have no role in it. And I’m sure you’ll understand when I say that your religion is as irrelevant to me as my healthcare rights are to you. (Or maybe you can imagine a Christian Scientist telling you that God will heal you when you’re sick, so you shouldn’t take medicine or receive medical treatment - and how you feel about that person’s belief system dictating your healthcare choices.) It seems we’re at an impasse. But I’ll close by saying that your definition of “protection” doesn’t make many women feel safer at all. Quite the opposite.
