I'm a fan of SATC, and this reboot is painful to watch. As sad as some fans of the original show may be that the Samantha character isn't there, they (like I) have to suspect Kim Cattrall read the script and went, "Nope." The writers could easily have tackled all of the same issues they seem to want to explore in a more creative, intelligent, and true-to-the-characters way, if they'd felt like it.
