The look at the partner makes me laugh because of their confusion. Not funny to you, obviously. I don’t mind when people ask if I have kids, and I think I’ll only mind a grandkid question because I don’t want to be grandma age, even if it beats being dead. Saying I don’t want and don’t have kids feels like a little triumph every time someone asks.
