Yes, the affair was imminent (to be honest, I would have cheated on him, too, for reasons I think are obvious). Also I have to say I married again - to someone who would never have demanded it, and who had no interest in me changing my name - and quite happily. But that doesn’t mean the institution doesn’t have its issues, for sure, or that it’s a good idea when treated as the traditional system some want it to be (with defined and stereotypical “husband” and “wife” roles and expectations).
