Yikes. Your first husband sounds like a nightmare. Regarding your second husband, even as a “mere” (that’s for the men) woman, I can sometimes feel unaccomplished compared to my husband (because he makes money, and I’m a writer who makes none, so …). It’s all me, and it’s only sometimes, but I think anyone might suffer the comparison trap now and then.
